We will dispute about important issues that you need to know during any design process.

Behind all beautiful, resembling pleasure and at the same time complex interior projects always stands the design of equally complex design. Thanks to them, we can not only “review” the future interior in advance, but also calculate many technical aspects: for example, furniture, wires, pipes, etc. where and how other small details will be located. The design project allows you to look at it from four different points:

Aesthetic aspect of design

The design allows you to see the interior directly before its design. If the customer does not like this or that detail in the interior, changes can be made to the project. This allows you to save enough money and build a future interior on the right budget.

Functional side

It allows you to determine to what extent the future interior will fit into its purpose, whether it is comfortable. Everything is taken into account when designing the interior: ergonomics, insulation, acoustics, technological requirements and even psychology.

The economic side

Thanks to the design, it is possible to know in advance the amount needed for interior design. It covers everything: the cost of materials and work, furniture, equipment and other necessary items.

Technical side

The technical side takes into account the existing norms and rules in the design of walls / partitions, electrical wiring, air conditioning and other details. As you can see, interior design is a set of project documents that objectively consider the future interior from different angles, and it is impossible to do without it.

Now let’s look at the stages of creating the right design project.

Stages of creating interior design

Creating a design project consists of several complex stages.

Step 1: Terms of Reference

Everything is simple: the designer imagines what the future interior will look like, taking into account the tastes of the occupants of the house or apartment and what they prefer. He must take into account:

  • Purpose and size of rooms;
  • Interior design and necessary equipment;
  • Future interior style.

Step 2: Collaboration

After the completion of the terms of reference, the joint work phase begins. In this case, changes are made to the design project at the request of the customer, a certain direction is formed to move, approved concepts are developed, various details of the interior are offered, and then such information is provided.

This stage ends with a planning decision approved between the Executor and the Customer.

Step 3: Design

At this stage, the designer together with the client provides the necessary furniture, decorative elements, fixtures, wallpapers, ceilings, curtains, tiles, etc. they choose. It is very important to consider not only the beauty of the interior, but also the functionality that should create comfort and convenience.

The designer is working on general drawings. These drawings will be given to the builders in the future to carry out the task set in full accordance with the project: for example, to show where the walls on which the slab is to be laid will be built. The set of drawings may include the placement of equipment / furniture, plans of partitions / floors / ceilings, sections, layouts of sanitary facilities, etc.

Step 4: Author control

Once the project is ready and accepted, the designer only formally completes the work, as different requirements may arise that require customers to address. In this case, the optimal solution to the problem would be to provide author’s control. Then the designer will have full control over the implementation of the designed option. It will then monitor the delivery of the necessary equipment and launch a log where all comments and requests are documented.
